The story of the St. Helena appellation is one of SUBSTANCE: the story of what unfolds when soil and climate, history and geography, nature's bounty and human artistry come together. This truth is defined by the collective values and vision of the members of Appellation St. Helena. Together, our winemakers and grape growers deliver on the land's promise by nurturing the gifts of St. Helena to create the consistently elegant wines we cultivate in the epicenter of Napa Valley.

 

1ST ANNUAL BASH

Our first BASH was a great success!
  • 28 St. Helena Appellation wineries poured 57 wines
  • One wine from each winery was paired with a food created by one of 12 local St. Helena restaurants, caterers and food purveyors or one of 16 student chef teams from the Culinary Institute of America.
  • VIP ticket holders enjoyed a special tasting and a food preparation demonstration in the Culinary Institute of America's EcoLab Theater, given by Lars Kronmark, chief Instructor Chef of the Culinary Institute.
  • Attendees voted on the best food and wine pairing in both professional and student categories:
    • Professional Category -1st Place -  La Condesa
    • Student Category
      • 1st Place - CIA Team #10 - Ellen Fort - Nashville, TN & Erin Morrissey - Los Angeles, CA paired with Vineyard 29
      • 2nd Place - CIA Team #5 - Jenna Demarco - Santa Fe, NM & Liz Strole - Berkeley, CA paired with David Fulton Winery
      • 3rd Place - CIA Team # 2 - Michael Egelbede - Nigeria, Africa & Steven Mc Dyer - Kodiak, AK paired with Benessere Vineyards
